Email Issues

I have installed collabtive for the first time, love it. When I installed it yesterday it sent out emails on new users and when a project was created. Today when you add a new user they get informed but so other emails to out and no configurations have changed. Any help would be appricated.

Are you using the PHP mail() function or an STMP server for sending the emails ?
You can check this in Administration -> System

Please make also sure email notifications are set to "on" in the system administration.
If you are using PHP mail(), make sure PHP is properly configured for sending mails.
If PHP mail() still doesn't work reliably try using SMTP.

I am using php mail. What seems weird to me is that it sends out the new account email, just not anything after that here is a screenshot of what is sent.

What else do you expect to be sent ? Please elaborate.

When I set this up yesterday and a task was assigned the user received and email from the systems telling them they had a new task assigned and for what project. That is not happening now.

I have just tested email notify on task creation, and it is working fine for me. Emails will of course only be sent for users that have a valid email address in their profile.
However, i also noticed that the way email notify for task creation is implemented - it will only send emails when you create tasks for other people.
That means, if you add a task and assign it to yourself (to the user you are logged in with) - no email will be sent.


Maybe that is what you are running into ?

Thank you very much for your help, that was it I did not realize that it only notified others which makes since. You have been very help.
