In my case installing Collabtive 0.5rc2 on the step 3 i have nothing to import from Basecamp then it just wont proceed with error "failed to create first user" So, maybe its possible to switch Basecamp import option off or any other workaround exists?

This has nothing to do with Basecamp import.
We are currently looking into this.

Well, maybe however it doesnt proceed without importing from Basecamp saying "you have to specify a value"

Then i ran install and output it the same i had once before "failed to create first user"

About opera: Opera seems to be having some rather strange problems with the JS field validation in some of our forms.
It marks fields as required, that aren't supposed to be required.
No other browser does this. We are looking into it.

Regarding:

This is known. Have a look here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=649&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=10#p2407
We try to fix this... problem is i can't reproduce this on any of my machines.

I can install it without problems on Windows. However, a Linux server is recommended.

Does this release let you subscribe the milestones with google calendar?

No
You can export your tasks to iCal and use them in Google calendar, but not milestones.

lady_teacher:
We will extend and improve iCal and other export functionalities in future releases.
This means it will be possible to use milestones with Google calendar, but i can not tell you exactly when.

Hi
I've had the same problem installing collabtive on my linux server. the problem was, that I had a $ in the password.
Line 8 in the config file is
Code: Select all
$db_pass = "foo$bar";
what results in php trying to substitute $bar within the password foo$bar. The fix is simple: change it to
Code: Select all
$db_pass = 'foo$bar';
and everything works fine.

For those not familiar to php, heres a short how-to:
befor you upload the source to the server open config/standard/config.php and replace the whole code with the following:
Code: Select all
<?php
  $db_host = '';
  $db_name = '';
  $db_user = '';
  $db_pass = '';
?>

Nice one. Had been hunting this one for quite some time ;)
I had simply overlooked the fact that some could have $ in their credentials. Fixed for next release / SVN.

Very nice, but now people can no longer use a single quote in the password :lol:

Unless the escape it with a \ I think... ;)
